About The Position

The candidate for Electrical Engineering requires a highly organized, highly motivated self-starter that can take instruction. They have critical thinking skills, can multitask, and execute to a detailed plan. Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed. Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Our Performance Center in Carson, CA is the Engineered Products Group site for our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, and Radio Frequency (RF) product lines. The role includes supporting the development of new electro-mechanical products, improving the manufacturability, reducing costs, and optimizing a designs performance of an existing product in a fast paced industrial environment. The position will be supporting cross functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and operations.

Requirements

  • Experience interpreting customer specification and apply them to design requirements
  • Experience in cabling and cable layout
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience in analog and digital circuits developing detailed schematics, test procedures, and fabrication specifications
  • Demonstrated written and oral presentations skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in BSEE with minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in design
  • Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years experience.
  • Must be US Person or Permanent Resident

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in printed circuit boards for instrument panels
  • Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T, and tolerancing stack-ups
  • Experience in thermal and dynamic analysis
  • Experience working with military specification for aircraft instrument panels
  • Ability to estimate timelines and generate schedules
  • Ability to evaluate cost, and risk
  • Experience with Python or LabView
