About The Position

The Electrical Engineer II designs electrical systems and coordinates system testing and validation to support the integration of slitting systems. The role supports the company’s portfolio of products and brands by integrating them into complete electro-mechanical and pneumatic machine control systems.

The position performs in-house testing, helps resolve complex technical issues, develops and documents equipment-testing procedures, and prepares technical reports for engineering, management, sales engineering, and technical services. Work takes place in office and manufacturing environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 or more years of related experience; alternatively, an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of related experience.
• Familiarity with NEC, EMI, and UL508A.
• Experience with electrical and electronic components, electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems, root-cause analysis, and electrical panel design.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, including arc-flash prevention, lockout/tagout, and safety assessments.
• Understanding of Ethernet-based networking and serial communications.
• Knowledge of analog and discrete industrial-control I/O signals to and from PLCs.
• Experience with induction, stepper, and servo motors, and with speed controls from installation through startup and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PID control-loop tuning.
• Experience in sensor testing, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for working with internal and external customers.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and proficiency with the MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good corrected vision, depth perception, and field of vision; prescription safety glasses may be required.
• Ability to perform work involving continuous reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, hand and finger dexterity, grasping, and feeling, as well as occasional stooping, crouching, and repetitive motion.

Nice To Haves

• AutoCAD Electrical familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for integrating slitting systems and the company’s products and brands.
• Perform in-house systems testing.
• Work with the field service team to recommend and define solutions that improve customer experience and prevent system malfunctions.
• Support Maxcess Technical Service with troubleshooting high-complexity problems.
• Document equipment-testing procedures and train internal team members.
• Prepare technical reports for electrical engineering, management, long- and short-range planning, sales engineering, and technical services activities.
