We are looking for an Electrical Engineer II - III in our Hamilton, NJ offices.

Requirements

  • Strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements.
  • Knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (e.g., eQuest, Trace).
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an Accredited Institution.
  • Minimum of 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.
  • Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required.
  • Basic understanding of proper system selection.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable codes.
  • FE certification required.

  • Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare.
  • Interest in Project Management.

Responsibilities

  • Creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes.
  • Demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.
  • Conducting field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work then assisting Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines and working in close contact with the entire design team.
  • Representing Syska Hennessy Group and working in close contact with and effectively interacting with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.).
  • Mastering drawing organization format and company standards.
  • Assisting senior engineer and/or senior designer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
  • Assisting the senior engineer / senior designer in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.
  • Beginning to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
  • Developing specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
  • Participating in / Ensuring / Overseeing QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
  • Performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports.
