About The Position

The Optics Electronics Department is an electrical engineering organization that designs, tests, and integrates advanced electrical subsystems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications. The role involves working on multi-disciplinary, multi-functional integrated product teams to design, develop, test, and/or integrate complex, state-of-the-art EO systems and subsystems. Activities may include analog and digital design, component trade studies, product development, supplier support, and digital logic development. This position requires onsite work in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience reading drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting electrical circuits
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in documenting test results and providing repair recommendations.
  • Experience working in a lab environment with standard Electrical Engineering lab equipment (e.g., Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital multimeters (DMMs), and signal sources).
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics, MATLAB, or PSPICE

Responsibilities

  • Specific tasks include circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation, maintenance, obsolescence trade assessments, troubleshooting, interconnect development, and resolution of hardware performance issues.
  • Hands-on lab work in analog and/or digital electronics.
  • Utilizing industry-standard CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) tools for electrical engineering, as well as EE lab equipment.
  • Engaging in schematic capture, HDL code development, synthesis, simulation, and testing.
  • Supporting troubleshooting efforts in lab environments and during system integration.
  • Documenting design approaches, test results, and issues in a structured manner.
