Devices submitted for analysis range from simple passive devices to complex custom microcircuits, as well as cables, connectors, magnetics, and electromagnetics. The role involves evaluating electrical components through documentation, testing, troubleshooting, environmental testing, X-ray evaluation, and destructive physical analysis. The engineer will document findings and learn to operate a range of laboratory equipment. The position is onsite in Tucson, Arizona, and requires U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable U.S. government security clearance before the start date, with the ability to obtain an interim clearance also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science with an emphasis on electronics, obtained by the start date.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as DMMs, curve tracers, parametric analyzers, multimeters, or megohmmeters.
  • Academic experience with microcircuits, active and passive electrical components, or other electrical components and materials.
  • U.S. citizenship, as required for eligibility for a security clearance.
