About The Position

The Computing Products Department in the Avionics business unit develops and sustains avionics hardware, including integrated processing cabinets, video processing modules, network products, and control panels for commercial and military aircraft. The Electrical Engineer 1 position focuses on developing digital hardware for high-performance computing products, such as processing computers and network switches for commercial avionics platforms. The role is based onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The engineer applies electrical engineering principles to design, develop, document, verify, support, and troubleshoot digital hardware for avionics products. The position works with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements capture and design through integration, verification, factory transition, and customer interface. Designs may use digital logic such as ASICs, FPGAs, and CPLDs, as well as processors and memory technologies. The engineer may also support issues arising in current production.
