About The Position

The Electrical Engineer I – Embedded Hardware will support the design, development, testing, and integration of embedded electronic systems for unmanned maritime and sensor platform applications. This role is part of a collaborative engineering team and contributes to delivering reliable, high-performance systems in demanding operational environments. This is a position suited for a motivated engineer who is eager to learn, hands-on, and capable of supporting technical efforts across multiple stages of development.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Internship, robotics team, lab, or technical project experience
  • Interest in autonomous systems, robotics, maritime systems, or defense applications
  • Comfortable working in laboratory and field environments
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and low-voltage power
  • Familiarity with wiring and cable assemblies
  • Experience using basic electrical test equipment
  • Understanding of Ethernet and serial communications fundamentals
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
  • This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Successful candidates for positions subject to ITAR/EAR restrictions must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence and must not require sponsorship for export-restricted work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Support integration of payloads, sensors, cameras, radios, and computer systems onto vehicle platforms
  • Assist with development of wiring diagrams, interface documentation, and integration drawings
  • Support assembly and troubleshooting of electrical systems and wiring harnesses
  • Assist with integration of Ethernet, PoE, serial, and low-voltage DC systems
  • Perform continuity checks, power verification, and basic system troubleshooting
  • Support laboratory testing and operational field demonstrations
  • Assist with inventory management and hardware configuration tracking
  • Work closely with mechanical, software, and operations teams during integration activities
  • Document integration procedures and test observations
