About The Position

Apex Order Pickup Solutions is looking for an Electrical Engineer Co-op to join the team at our global headquarters in Mason, Ohio. This is a terrific opportunity to become a key electrical technical contributor on various exciting new development initiatives in the IoT & SaaS space. Requirements

  • Active enrollment in a B.S. degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree field.
  • Exposure to CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, Altium, AutoCAD, etc....
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to learn quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various tools for creation of prototypes & troubleshooting. (Ex. Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Function Generators, Spectrum Analyzer, Crimping Tools, Soldering Iron, Wire Strippers, etc....)
  • Experience with Altium software.
  • Exposure or experience with creation of systems schematics, PCB, & harness designs.
  • Exposure to designing & building low voltage harnesses.
  • Exposure to analog & digital circuit design theory.
  • Exposure to electrical standards such as WHMA.
  • Exposure to coding languages such as C, C++, Java, & Python.
  • Exposure to working with cameras & image sensing.
  • Exposure to working with wireless technologies. (Ex. Bluetooth & WIFI)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the hardware development & selection of state-of-the-art electronic elements within the overall systems design while keeping manufacturability in mind.
  • Design, analysis, testing, & rapid prototyping.
  • Generate harness designs for supporting cable routing & component mounting.
  • Supports the development of component & harness 3D CAD models.
  • Supports production of component to system level 2D schematics & drawings.
  • Supports the production of component PCB designs to hand off completed Gerber files.
  • Generate product designs of digital/analog hardware incorporating ethernet, serial communication protocols, processors, memory, power distribution, wireless communications, image processing, etc....
  • Establish component level requirements.
  • Perform basic component level DFMEA analysis as needed.
  • Review component suppliers’ control & test plans.
  • Create production intent rapid prototypes as needed.
  • Supporting the development of component validation & verification specifications.
  • Supporting the development of component production specifications including in process & end of line testing.
