About The Position

Join The Naval Nuclear Laboratory's (NNL) Moored Training Ship (MTS) Hardware Engineering Team! NNL develops and supports the world's most advanced hardware-based simulators for U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. These simulators are essential for training, qualifying, and maintaining the proficiency of U.S. Navy sailors. As a member of the MTS Hardware Engineering team, you will: Provide engineering support for state-of-the-art, high-fidelity engine room and reactor plant control room submarine simulators. Participate in the design, construction, testing, and delivery of next-generation nuclear propulsion plant simulators. Collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure mission-critical training for U.S. Navy sailors.

Requirements

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.
All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.

Nice To Haves

Electrical Engineering degrees are preferred, but not required.
Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control systems, especially in simulation or automation environments.
Familiarity with single board computers (such as Raspberry Pi) or microcontrollers (such as Arduino) for hardware prototyping or system integration.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent electrical design software for schematic creation and system layout.
Candidates with related technical experience or a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
