Requirements

  • One year as an Electrical Engineer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system; and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Two years of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project designs, specifications, and drawings that follow codes and engineering standards
  • Evaluate construction plans, contractor submittmits, and proposed changes to ensure quality and compliance
  • Conduct inspections and surveys to identify issues, verify conditions, and provide recommended solutions
  • Offer engineering advice to staff and assist with troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment
  • Work with other disciplines, facility staff, and design professionals to support successful project outcomes
  • Investigate electrical failures or unusual conditions and recommend effective corrective actions
