About The Position

This role involves generating electrical design concepts and feasibility studies for new projects, conducting design reviews, and performing detailed electrical system design. The engineer will be responsible for system power distribution, electrical protection, component selection, and system layout. The position also requires integration with mechanical, control, and software engineering, as well as electrical design safety and risk assessment. Communication with internal and external customers and vendors is key, along with project documentation using software like SAP, AutoCAD, and Sharepoint. Hands-on work in the engineering lab and manufacturing may be required to support installation and testing.

Requirements

  • Experience with High Voltage and Pulse Power systems, high voltage safety and designs
  • Knowledge of circuit design and simulation, circuit board layout and fabrication, and EMI/EMC compliance
  • Experience with SCR, IGBT and other power switching devices based converters/inverters and gate drive circuits
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with NEC, NFPA79 and other electrical standards
  • Ability to work simultaneously on variety of projects
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design CAD software
  • Requires strong skills in change management, problem solving, communication skills, customer orientation, product technology, global business perspective, personal effectiveness, project management, team skills and quality
  • Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, AutoCad , S AP

  • Requires ability to influence other people; ability to act as a mentor, lead and/or supervise projects
  • BS in Electrical Engineering and 2 + years directly related experience, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Magnetics Design and Closed Loop Control design experience is a plus
  • Prior experience in semiconductor capital equipment and SEMI standards knowledge is a plus
  • Proficiency in SAP is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Generate electrical design concepts and feasibility studies for making proposals for new CES/CIP/R&D project requests
  • Conduct and participate in formal/informal design reviews to contribute and generate discussion/alternate ideas on various aspects of the design
  • Design and develop system power distribution, voltage transformation/conversion, electrical protection and coordination, EMI and Harmonics management, Electrical Power calculations, electrical load flow analysis, power factor correction
  • Detailed electrical system design based on National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA79 and SEMI standards including electrical components selection, system layout and wiring
  • Design of motor drives and control circuits, sensors/actuators control interface, instrumentation and safety interlocks
  • Electrical design integration with communication systems and computer networking, developing Fieldbus IO distribution systems, PLC programming
  • Electrical design integration with mechanical, control and software engineering
  • Electrical Design Safety and risk assessment
  • Manage communications and expectations with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure accomplishing project objectives
  • Work intensely with SAP, AutoCAD, Sharepoint and other software applications to properly manage and document projects
  • Can work hands-on when needed in the engineering lab and manufacturing to support the installation and test of CES/CIP designs that get delivered on customer systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned
