About The Position

As an entry level Electrical Engineer 1 at Collins Aerospace, you will assist in researching, developing, simulating, designing, and testing electrical components, sub systems and systems as well as resolving day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting electrical devices / circuits problems in the lab. You will complete engineering documentation / designs as required, operate engineering lab equipment, and confer with stakeholders regarding engineering projects. You will perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design for Avionics products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met. You will provide design and engineering support for CNS sustainment products, with opportunities to contribute to new product development. You will manage component obsolescence identification and mitigation. You will analyze circuit performance using circuit simulation tools like LT Spice or HyperLynx. You will gain knowledge about designing electrical components, circuits, products, and systems for Aircraft Avionics purposes. You will gain knowledge in analyzing and evaluating new or improved electrical/electronic components and networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with embedded processors or FPGAs.
  • Experience with RF / Analog / Digital designs and experience with RF and/or mixed signals PCB layout design
  • Familiarity with simulation & analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink).
  • Experience with Schematic capture and layout tools, such as Mentor Graphics DX Designer.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
