This position is for an entry level Electrical Design Engineer 1 to be part of an integrated product team of engineers that design and support embedded controls within our team. Collins Aerospace's Digital Controls group is responsible for the development and sustaining engineering activities for a large array of electronic control aerospace applications including engine controls, flight controls, auxiliary power unit controls, air management system controls, stores management systems, de-ice controls and more. Our controls systems are designed to include digital processing and analog interface functions to meet all the performance, built in test and reliability requirements for each platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic control systems (school project or prior internship experience).
  • Experience or coursework in designing and verifying electronic circuit cards.
  • Analog circuit analysis experience.
  • Processing system design experience.
  • Test and Lab Instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the electrical design, development, analysis and test of electrical components and circuits within digital control systems.
  • Design and validate circuits meet specified performance for analog and digital functions.
  • Develop and execute hardware verification test plans and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for investigation into production and field product failure.
