Electrical Drafter
About The Position
Anderson Industrial Engines Co., Inc. (AIE) is seeking a detail-oriented and technically minded Electrical Drafter to join our Engineering Department. This position will be responsible for converting engineering concepts, preliminary designs, and rough sketches into accurate, detailed technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams using Zuken E3. The Electrical Drafter will work closely with engineers and other internal teams to develop clear, accurate, and organized electrical documentation supporting AIE's custom wire harnesses and equipment applications. The ideal candidate has a foundation in CAD drafting, strong attention to detail, and an interest in electrical systems, controls, and engineering design.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, Drafting, CAD, Controls, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field required.
- Previous experience with CAD software is required.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, technical specifications, and electrical design concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new software, engineering processes, and technical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with electrical drafting, wiring diagrams, or technical drawing development preferred.
- Experience with Zuken E3 is a significant advantage but is not required.
- Experience with SolidWorks is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Convert engineering concepts, sketches, and design requirements into detailed electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Create, modify, and maintain electrical drawings using Zuken E3 electrical design software.
- Develop wiring diagrams, electrical connection drawings, system layouts, and related technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers to interpret design requirements and ensure drawings accurately reflect system functionality.
- Assist with the development of electrical and control system schematics for engine packages and related equipment.
- Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with applicable engineering standards.
- Incorporate design revisions and maintain organized documentation of drawing updates.
- Support the Engineering Department with drafting, design documentation, and project-related tasks.
- Coordinate with engineering and other internal departments to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
- Assist with troubleshooting drawing discrepancies and identifying opportunities to improve drafting processes and documentation.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
