This position is responsible for advanced design of residential, commercial, industrial, overhead and underground electric distribution facilities. The role involves performing cost estimates, planning material needs, and following project progress from inception to completion. It requires regular interaction with contractors, engineers, developers, customers, and consultants. The position also includes mentoring, training, and guiding peers, and utilizing surveying instruments. Adherence to and enforcement of the company safety policy, National Electric Safety Code, and National Electric Code are essential. The role involves mediating and diffusing issues, editing within the Global Information System for accuracy and connectivity, and coordinating with various stakeholders including members, developers, consultants, contractors, and government entities to discuss electric power supply procedures. It also includes researching, acquiring, recording, and verifying easement information, and implementing and managing solutions from conceptualization through planning, construction, project completion, and financial reconciliation. A key responsibility is developing overall master plans for major residential and commercial projects exceeding 7,000 lots total build out. The role also involves obtaining right-of-way permits, coordinating with the Pole Contacts and Vegetation Management departments, evaluating environmental constraints, assessing load requirements, researching new material specifications, and performing complex power system calculations. Interpreting survey data, plan, deed information, and engineered construction drawings, as well as developing master system plans for future growth, are also part of the duties. The designer will prepare easements and exhibits, confer with engineers and consultants about CIP projects, coordinate with various departments for construction, and act as the primary contact for customers during the construction process. Responsibilities include generating sub-division designs, making presentations, conducting inspections, operating PEC vehicles, maintaining driver eligibility, and ensuring the security of confidential information. The position requires staying abreast of technological advancements and demonstrating regular and prompt attendance. Supervisory and/or leadership responsibilities may include providing technical direction to others.
