Senior Electrical Designer
About The Position
Shermco Industries is seeking an Electrical Designer for its Cedar Park, Texas office. Working under detailed instructions and review, the role provides technical knowledge and performs design work, including 3D layout of moderate scope, to support the Design Area Lead or Lead. The position contributes to delivering quality services and technical competence in support of the company’s competitiveness in the global marketplace. The Electrical Designer prepares 2D CAD drawings, reviews drawings and vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements, resolves discrepancies, performs bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations, and follows applicable industry codes, standards, and departmental procedures. Other duties may be assigned. The role may involve overnight travel for various projects.
Requirements
- Experience with AutoCAD and SKM.
- Electrical Engineering degree.
- Power and Controls experience.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Able to pass a criminal background screen and pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willing and open to overnight travel for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform design work and 3D layout of moderate scope in support of the Design Area Lead or Lead.
- Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate complexity.
- Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and seek resolution of discrepancies.
- Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
- Adhere to industry codes and standards, as well as department practices and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
