About The Position

FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the backup Power Generation Industry. We design and build backup power packages (to include tanks and enclosures) for large and small health, industrial, and technology-oriented businesses that cannot have a power lapse at any time. We are looking for an Electrical Designer to work within our engineering team to carry out specific tasks that are vital to the design & production of electrical generator system packages.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent job experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the Power Generation Industry with three-phase electrical systems construction and production, low to medium voltage.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA, and UL.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, specifically, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Highly organized, efficient, multi-tasker with process improvement mindset and skillset.
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrates initiative.
  • Team player with positive attitude and desire to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Multi-tasker who can tackle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent is a plus.
  • SolidWorks Electrical is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Use computers and computer systems to design electrical circuits, control systems, and layout drawings for generator system packages, according to NFPA, NEC, & UL 2200.
  • Prepare technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems for new products and product changes.
  • Help the team in the development of conceptual design changes to electrical systems for improved reliability and efficiency.
  • Gather product information and read design specifications.
  • Assist and create electrical Bills of Material (BoM).
  • Update files and maintain consistency with engineering records and part drawings.
  • Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes.
  • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
