We are currently seeking an Electrical Designer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office. As an Electrical Designer in the Oak Ridge office, you will perform a variety of electrical design functions. This includes development of facility models and construction drawings such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules and bills of materials. This also includes complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas. Lighting design includes fixture selection, model calculations which will determine lighting level for normal and emergency lighting situations. Activities could include assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials. The work location for this position is in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in engineering from a certified institution
  • Four (4) or more years of electrical engineering design experience
  • Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
  • Sole US citizenship required
  • Short Circuit Analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of the NEC
  • Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications is required
  • Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is required
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard on the employee or others.
  • Must take and pass a pre-employment drug, background check and site security badge screening.

Nice To Haves

  • DOE experience desired
  • NQA-1 experience desired
  • Lighting calculation experience
  • Familiarity with 3-Dimensional Applications
  • Knowledge of broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection
