Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 5+ years of relevant electrical design and drafting experience.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT), Certified Electrical Technologist (CET), or equivalent professional designation.
  • Strong working knowledge of 600V and medium‑voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Solid understanding of LV/MV control and protection philosophies.
  • Experience using ETAP, SKM, or similar power system analysis software.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable local amendments.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism in French is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical designs for medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution systems supporting EV charging and fleet infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare electrical drawings for conceptual designs developed by Professional Engineers, including MV/LV distribution, relay wiring schematics, networking, site layouts, and foundation details.
  • Produce CAD and Revit deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, communication diagrams, and material take‑offs.
  • Support electrical feasibility studies and sustainability‑driven designs, including EV charging systems and solar PV integration.
  • Perform power system analyses such as arc‑flash, harmonic, load‑flow, and coordination studies using industry‑standard software.
  • Prepare tender documentation and assist with bid analysis for equipment supply and installation.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and on‑time delivery of all design outputs while supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Represent WSP in technical discussions with clients under the guidance of senior engineers.
