About The Position

The Electrical Designer will be responsible for creating electrical drawings based on standards and electrical engineer guidance while maintaining revision control. The position will be responsible for maintaining and updating the Electrical AutoCAD parts library and implementing improvements in Electrical AutoCAD drawing standards. Discuss projects with project team to review functions of equipment and systems, interface with project team regularly to resolve technical issues to ensure expectations are met. Work with engineering personnel to develop electrical drawing packages using AutoCAD Electrical. Assist automation personnel with field research of existing electrical systems, testing of installed systems, and commissioning of the PLC/HMI based control systems. Perform project tasks while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Utilize, support, and enhance Automation’s standards and best practices. Maintain revision control for electrical drawings.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of AutoCAD.
Understanding of commonly used electrical symbols, schematics, and components.
Possession of strong organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
Ability to comprehend engineering specifications.
Proficiently communicate between all departments.
Prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
Utilize critical reasoning skills.

Nice To Haves

3 to 5 years of experience as an Electrical Designer.
Education or certification in Electrical AutoCAD.
Experience with SOLIDWORKS.
Knowledge of NFPA 70, UL 508A.
Experience with electrical design in Hazardous Areas.
