About The Position

This internship role involves working with cross-functional teams to support the design and development of Emerson’s Automation Solutions products. Interns will utilize industry-standard electrical design tools for schematic capture and simulations, perform electronic testing using laboratory equipment, research new technologies, and evaluate system architecture and performance.

Requirements

  • Pursuing bachelor’s in engineering
  • Zero (0) years of applicable experience
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Prior internship experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, software, and systems engineers—to support the design and development of Emerson’s Automation Solutions products from concept through production.
  • Utilize industry-standard electrical design tools to capture circuit schematics and perform simulations to ensure design integrity and performance.
  • Perform a variety of electronic testing using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators to validate and troubleshoot designs.
  • Research and develop new ideas, tools, and technologies that contribute to product innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate Emerson systems and electronic circuits at both the functional block and component level to gain a deeper understanding of system architecture and performance.
