About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Design Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in the production design of Butyl instrument transformers and encompasses test-related activities. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to solve complex problems, develop and execute strategic objectives, and influence both short-term and long-term business goals within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college, with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Alternatively, a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Electrical Design.
  • Proven ability to understand and implement complex design layouts for overall assemblies, applying industry-standard drawing practices.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in team environments while achieving targets independently.
  • Strong detail orientation, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a track record of building relationships within the company and with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in a manufacturing environment, understanding the interplay between design and production.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design of 0.6kV through 69 kV class current and voltage instrument transformers, ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards.
  • Execute most design assignments autonomously, managing projects from initial quoting through to production hand-off. This includes the creation of detailed drawings, bills of material, and comprehensive production instructions.
  • Ensure all designs comply with IEEE, IEC, and other relevant industry standards, maintaining the integrity and reliability of our products.
  • Develop and implement final test procedures, producing thorough verification reports to validate product performance.
  • Provide essential support to production and testing teams, ensuring seamless integration of design into manufacturing processes.
  • Drive initiatives to achieve expected results in terms of quality, execution time, and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct rigorous qualification testing for new products or alternate materials, ensuring they meet all performance and safety criteria before market release.
  • Interface effectively with Product Management, Production, Sourcing, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to align design objectives with overall business goals.
  • Uphold company safety and quality expectations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
