About The Position

The Electrical Crew Leader position requires extensive experience and knowledge in civil construction and electrical work. This role works directly with the construction manager, project manager, and master electrician, and communicates with customers as needed. The ECL leads a crew of 2 or more people, performs various mechanical tasks in civil construction and electrical work, and leads the crew to complete assigned tasks. Daily leadership in all job tasks and safety procedures is required.

Requirements

  • Must have three or more years of experience in commercial electrical construction (electrical construction in wireless telecommunications preferred)
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Must be current on all OSHA and other training mandated by state and federal agencies that pertain to this position and have documented proof of successfully completing and passing the training.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual labor following verbal and/or written instructions
  • Must hold a valid unrestricted driver’s license and be insurable by Heartland Solutions’ insurance provider
  • DOT Certification (physical)
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions
  • Ability to read site schematics, ladder diagrams, construction drawings, blue prints
  • Must have extensive electrical knowledge & skills
  • Must have extensive construction knowledge & skills
  • Must have extensive knowledge of tools and be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of basic computer operation (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must know crane hand signals and know how to properly use them
  • Must be able to work on energized circuits
  • Must be self-motivated and team oriented
  • Must be detail orientated
  • Ability to multi-task while on various job sites and projects
  • Must be local or willing to relocate to this area
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must have your own hand tools
  • Must be self-motivated and able to learn quickly
  • Willing to travel when required
  • Willing to work long hours, weekends, non-structured schedule, etc.
  • Ability to move equipment up/down steps and ladders

Responsibilities

  • Obey all company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude that reflects Heartland Solutions Corp’s mission and standards
  • Provide leadership and management to field personnel to ensure that the mission and core values of Heartland Solutions are adhered to and put into practice
  • Report to Master Electrician, Construction Manager and Project Manager daily and lead crew while completing daily activities according to work schedule
  • Leads daily JSA meetings, safety, and quality tailgate meetings for assigned crew
  • Inspect all Personal Protective Equipment daily
  • Ensure that all assigned company tools, equipment, vehicles, company facilities and customer facilities are kept clean, orderly and serviced properly
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in civil construction and electrical projects
  • Lead crew, delegate tasks and perform all necessary work to safely and properly complete the site
  • Train and teach fellow crew members at a basic level
  • Motivate crew members and keep moral high while working
  • Responsible for knowing and collecting information about the job site, including knowing what material is required, site location, completion date, etc.
  • Responsible for obtaining and verifying all appropriate information, photos, reports, and testing is completed correctly for each closeout prior to leaving the site, and submitting to Project Manager and Construction Coordinator within 24 hours
  • Manage labor cost to stay within the parameters of HSC’s bid
  • Install wiring per NEC code
  • Install conduit, grounding, and electrical devices including but not limited to meters, disconnects, lighting, etc.
  • Decommission existing sites (remove conduit, electrical, and any other devices) when needed
  • Perform troubleshooting when necessary, which may in include but is not limited to: lighting issues, replacing breakers, etc.
  • Climb ladders, operate aerial lifts, and perform electrical work
  • Notify appropriate parties immediately of any issues which may affect efficient operations
