About The Position

Provide an experienced Electrical Coordinator responsible for supporting the Storage Ring Seismic Retrofit electrical scope. This role involves developing electrical scope for system relocations, coordinating electrical work across various organizations and subcontractors, leading planning meetings, coordinating temporary power and testing, and supporting project closeout. The position also requires significant field support, including verification of existing infrastructure, wireway cataloging, cable identification, database support, drawing verification, underground investigations, and documentation for specific project activities. The coordinator will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining various safety and work planning documents, adhering to Integrated Safety Management principles, and ensuring all deliverables meet LBNL requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Responsible Individual (RI) qualification.
  • Experience coordinating electrical construction activities.
  • Experience supporting industrial, laboratory, institutional, or utility electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical work planning and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to independently coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform routine field work including walking construction sites, climbing ladders, and accessing congested equipment areas.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical scope associated with temporary and permanent relocation of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Coordinate electrical work across engineering, construction, operations, facilities, safety organizations, and subcontractors.
  • Lead electrical planning and coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate temporary construction power.
  • Coordinate testing and commissioning activities.
  • Support project closeout.
  • Perform field-oriented electrical coordination activities including field verification of existing electrical infrastructure, wireway cataloging, cable identification and labeling, cable database support, existing drawing verification, underground conduit investigations, cable entry documentation, job walks, constructability reviews, hazard identification, LOTO coordination, pre-job briefings, and field issue resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including Lockout/Tagout Plans, Job Safety Plans, Job Instructions, Work Orders, Cable Lists, Cable Entry Forms, Penetration Permits, Construction Work Packages, Field Verification Reports, As-Built Documentation, and Construction Records.
  • Support all activities using Integrated Safety Management principles, including work planning, hazard analysis, Lockout/Tagout, job safety planning, construction coordination, field oversight, and safety documentation.
  • Prepare deliverables such as electrical scope definitions, field-verification records, cable catalogs, LOTO plans, job safety plans, temporary construction-power plans, constructability reviews, meeting summaries, field issue documentation, testing plans, updated drawings, project-closeout records, and periodic status reports.
