About The Position

The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for automation equipment maintenance, regular backup or revision of automation programs, and developing modification or upgrade plans and inspection plans. This role involves hands-on maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting of various automation systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.
  • At least three years of work experience at Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, AB, Kuka Robot System etc.
  • Bachelor's degree or above, major in electric or Electrical control software.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip).
  • Visual acuity including near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with manufacturing software.
  • Familiar with office software WORD, EXCEL.
  • Official document writing ability.
  • Familiar with brand/non-brand PLC programming, touch screen programming, experienced in motion control programming.
  • Familiar with the application of servo, stepping and frequency conversion.
  • Familiar with the selection and debugging of universal electric components.
  • Proficient in KUKA robotic system configuration and robot electric ports.
  • Familiar with robot programming command and advanced programming.
  • Familiar with glass production process.
  • Familiar with basic knowledge about the machinery and electrics.
  • Familiar with the basic structure of glass production equipment.
  • Mechanical technician should master "four understandings and three know-hows": four understands are understand principle, structure, performance and usage; three know-hows are how to use, how to maintain and how to troubleshoot.
  • Familiar with the application of computer office software, particularly control programming software.
  • At least familiar with two of Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, AB, KUKA robot and order programming system.
  • Observational ability and strain capacity.
  • Interpersonal skill.
  • Strong planning, organization and coordinate ability.
  • Persuasive ability.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced with Ethernet and DeviceNet, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus Serial and TCP/IP, Bacnet MSTP, TCP/IP, CAN protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Automation equipment maintenance and management, including inventory, spare parts, and operation.
  • Regular backup or revision of automation programs, ensuring reliability.
  • Regularly inspecting hardware and software, assisting in solving key technical issues and obstacles related to equipment breakdowns due to program issues.
  • Performing PLC, HMI Building Automation, and Robot programming tasks such as maintaining existing logic, implementing feature changes, and commissioning PLCs for new processes and machines.
  • Preparing modification or upgrade plans and inspection plans.
  • Applying for the purchase of automation equipment and summarizing spare parts requisition sheets.
  • Regularly inspecting hardware, dustproofing, tightening maintenance, and replacement of worn parts.
  • Troubleshooting a variety of mechanical and electrical applications, such as motors, pumps, VFDs, Servo Drives, Robots, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
