About The Position

The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for the installation, wiring, and commissioning of control systems. This role requires a strong technical, mechanical, and control system aptitude to identify root causes of machine failures and perform necessary repairs. The engineer will also be involved in instrumentation and controls debugging and troubleshooting. Additionally, the position may involve representing the facility as an Associate Project Manager on corporate engineering projects and leading small in-house plant projects. The role receives general supervision and allows for some discretion in work details. The ability to work all shifts is necessary to maintain production, and the engineer will be responsible for completing projects within time and budget constraints. Work is reviewed for overall accuracy, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School General Education Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess the ability to read and understand controls prints.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the maintenance of complex controls systems with multiple interactions is required.
  • Must have knowledge of how PLC, SCADA and/or other industrial control systems work to include some minor programming. Emphasis on Rockwell Automation RS Logix5000 and SLC500 platforms
  • Three years’ experience in the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and process control equipment, in an industrial manufacturing setting including Food, Beverage, or other manufacturing industries.
  • Technical training in electronics, instrumentation, and process controls
  • Work with Thermocouples, Transducers, PLC, Motors, VFD Drives
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

  • Some college strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, Wiring and Commissioning of control systems.
  • Exercise technical, mechanical and control system aptitude/skills in order to accurately identify root causes for machine failures or breakdowns and the repair accordingly.
  • Instrumentation and controls debugging and troubleshooting.
  • May represent Facility as Associate Project Manager on segments of Corporate Engineering projects as well as lead small in-house plant projects.
  • Responsible for completing projects tasks within time and budget constraints.
  • Update and Maintain Plant library of all PLC, HMI, and VFD drive parameters on Corporate Drive.
