About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join the Columbus, Ohio team. This hands-on role supports the senior controls engineer with troubleshooting and improvements to existing systems, as well as design, construction supervision, checkout, and startup for new projects in a beverage manufacturing environment. The engineer follows client-defined standards and scope and maintains communication with the senior engineer and appropriate client contacts. Fieldwork is required.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years of relevant engineering experience in an industrial, consumer products, or related industry is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of process control and automation concepts.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms, including ControlLogix; PLC5 and SLC experience is preferred.
• Ability to climb ladders, walk over crossovers, access equipment, and walk from the parking lot to the job area and throughout a large manufacturing plant.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle report (MVR) according to company and client policies.

Nice To Haves

• HMI/SCADA experience, including iFix, FTView, or Ignition.
• Experience in food and/or beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, or another process-related industry.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Microsoft Office suite experience, including Word and Excel.
• Control panel design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (EE) or electrical engineering technology (EET).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot existing systems and make minor improvements.
• Assist the senior engineer with controls design, construction supervision, startup, and documentation for new projects.
• Perform required fieldwork.
• Write small programs from scratch and modify existing applications.
