About The Position

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for creating and reviewing controls engineering documentation in support of customer submittal packages, fabrication, and equipment installation. Participate in and prepare designs of electrical control systems per customer and internal plans and specifications for mechanized and/or process Parkson/MRI products. Along with drawings, the Electrical Engineer is also required to provide and participate in the preparation of project documentation and specifications to assist with Supply Chain activities. This role includes the use of structured problem solving and statistical process improvement methodologies. Requires close collaboration with various project stakeholders during the design and implementation process to troubleshoot and resolve problems throughout all phases of project implementation and service after delivery.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical controls design and project implementation.
  • Experience with design and programming of PLC/HMI based control systems.
  • Experience with configuration and commissioning of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Experience with process and instrumentation hardware implementation.
  • Ability to work alone and with others to solve design issues.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar CAD platform.
  • Proficient with standard business software including Microsoft Office.
  • Analyze unique job requirements and modify standard designs as needed.
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to read, interpret and create schematics and specifications.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, peers, suppliers, and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with UL 508A, preferred.
  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment equipment is preferred.
  • Panel building, testing, and troubleshooting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Electrical Designer to prepare drawings for customer approval and for fabrication and provide final review of drawings.
  • Assemble submittal packages, installation, and maintenance manuals, component specifications and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Review customer specification, interpret requirements and provide support for proposal preparation and implementation of projects.
  • Develop programming for PLC and other similar components to operate mechanical and/or process components in accordance with the sequence of operations.
  • Configuration of control panel components.
  • Interface with Purchasing to communicate specification requirements and to support vendor communications, product changes and pre-ordering.
  • Interface with Planning and Panel Shop personnel to ensure proper communication of design requirements and to receive feedback on manufacturability.
  • Interface with installation personnel to communicate requirements and to assist with installation/construction issues including preparation and/or review of Installation, Operations and Maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure all Engineering documentation is maintained in Autodesk Vault.
  • Actively participate in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process internally as well as with change orders with the customer.
  • Work with others on the team to design parts and derive practical solutions to solve individual project issues.
  • Balance own workload and schedule (with engineering management guidance) to allow for timely production of project submittals and fabrication packages. Will normally have several jobs at various stages to manage.
