The Electrical Controls Engineer designs, develops, integrates, and validates machine electrical systems, electro-hydraulic controls, embedded controls software, and vehicle communication networks for off-highway equipment. The role owns electrical and controls architecture from concept through production release and works across mechanical, hydraulic, manufacturing, procurement, service, and supplier teams to deliver robust, safe, serviceable, and compliant machines. The position develops machine-level electrical and controls architecture, embedded-control software or supplier requirements, CAN/J1939 networks, electrical schematics, and production-ready wire harnesses. It integrates controls and harnesses into 3D machine models and manages revisions, bills of materials, and release workflows. The engineer leads prototype and production troubleshooting, validation, field support, and continuous-improvement activities, while maintaining technical documentation and supporting applicable regulatory requirements. The position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but coaches and mentors colleagues and supervises outside contractors working on electrical systems. It reports to the Director of Engineering and R&D. Work takes place in office, engineering, and shop environments, with occasional exposure to noise, hydraulic fluid, and outdoor conditions during prototype and field testing. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week; some scheduling flexibility and the possibility of hybrid work are noted.
