About The Position

This role is responsible for the maintenance and management of automation equipment, including inventory, spare parts, and operation. The engineer will perform regular backups and revisions of automation programs, and is responsible for hardware and software maintenance, assisting in solving key issues and technical obstacles related to equipment breakdowns. The position requires experience with various communication protocols and PLC/HMI/Building Automation/Robot programming tasks. The engineer will also prepare modification or upgrade plans, inspection plans, and be responsible for the purchase of automation equipment and requisition of spare parts.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.
  • At least three years of work experience at Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, AB, kuka Robot System etc.
  • Bachelor's degree and above, major in electric or Electrical control software
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods.
  • Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Visual acuity including, but not limited to: NEAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. FAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. DEPTH PERCEPTION - Three-dimensional vision. COLOR VISION - Ability to identify and distinguish colors. FIELD OF VISION - Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software.
  • Familiar with office software WORD, EXCEL
  • Official document writing ability
  • Familiar with brand/non-brand PLC programming, touch screen programming, experienced in motion control programming
  • Familiar with the application of servo, stepping and frequency conversion
  • Familiar with the selection and debugging of universal electric components
  • Proficient in KUKA robotic system configuration and robot electric ports
  • Familiar with robot programming command and advanced programming
  • Familiar with glass production process
  • Familiar with basic knowledge about the machinery and electrics
  • Familiar with the basic structure of glass production equipment
  • Mechanical technician should master "four understandings and three know-hows", four understands are understand principle, structure, performance and usage; three know-hows are how to use, how to maintain and how to troubleshoot.
  • Familiar with the application of computer office software, particularly control programming software
  • At least familiar with two of Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, AB, KUKA robot and order programming system.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced with Ethernet and DeviceNet, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus Serial and TCP/IP, Bacnet MSTP, TCP/IP, CAN protocols
  • Knowledge and working experience troubleshooting a variety of mechanical and electrical applications, such as motors, pumps, VFDs, Servo Drives, Robots, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Training regarding machinery, electrics, equipment management
  • Training regarding PLC programming

Responsibilities

  • Automation equipment maintenance and management, specifically including the account, spare parts and operation
  • Responsible for regular backup or revision to automation program; Regularly backup or revise automation program and ensure the reliability of backup
  • Responsible for regularly inspecting hardware, software maintenance, assist in solving key issues and technical obstacles relate to equipment sudden break down by program issue
  • Perform a variety of PLC, HMI Building Automation and Robot programming tasks such as maintaining existing logic, implementing feature changes based on new product requirements, or commissioning PLCs for new processes and new Machines
  • Prepare modification or upgrade plan and inspection plan
  • Responsible for applying purchase of automation equipment; Summarize the spare parts requisition sheet relating to automation equipment and place the purchase request
  • Responsible for regularly inspecting the hardware, dustproof, tightening maintenance and replacement of worn parts
  • Other duties as assigned
