Gaston Electrical Co., LLC•Independence, MO
•$95,000 - $161,000

About The Position

Gaston Electrical is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Detailer with a strong electrical construction background to bridge engineering design and field installation. The role reviews engineering drawings, develops constructability solutions, identifies prefabrication opportunities, uses Bluebeam to create detailed field-driven markups, and helps define project means and methods. The markups and concepts are translated into coordinated Revit models by BIM/VDC teams. The Detailer serves as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle to align design, prefabrication, and field execution. The position develops project-specific electrical means and methods strategies intended to improve safety, productivity, quality, and schedule performance. It evaluates engineered designs and determines efficient installation approaches based on field conditions, manpower, access constraints, and project sequencing; creates installation plans; develops standard practices and prefab assemblies; and helps coordinate material flow and logistics. The role collaborates with project management, superintendents, general foremen, field teams, BIM/VDC teams, and the prefabrication shop, and drives continuous improvement in constructability, labor productivity, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Provide markups communicating installation intent to BIM Coordinators and project teams.
  • Work with BIM Coordinators and VDC teams to convert Bluebeam markups into coordinated Revit models.
  • Participate in coordination and clash-detection meetings.
  • Develop prefab drawings, spool sheets, assembly packages, and installation details for production.
  • Identify and maximize electrical prefabrication opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with the prefabrication shop to ensure assemblies are accurately detailed and manufactured.
  • Serve as a central point of contact between field operations, BIM teams, project management, and prefabrication.
  • Provide constructability guidance and technical support throughout project execution.
  • Develop and lead project-specific electrical means and methods strategies to improve safety, productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Evaluate engineered designs and determine efficient installation approaches based on field conditions, manpower, access constraints, and project sequencing.
  • Create installation plans supporting labor efficiency and prefabrication opportunities.
  • Establish standard installation practices and prefab assemblies for consistent use across projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, and field teams to develop execution plans and work packaging strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce field labor through modularization, off-site fabrication, and advanced planning.
  • Assist in developing material flow and logistics plans.
  • Ensure BIM models, prefab drawings, and field installation packages reflect approved means and methods.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on constructability, labor productivity, and operational excellence.
