About The Position

Amentum is hiring for an Electrical Connector Engineer to support the Prototyping Integration Facility (PIF) of the Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Center (C5ISR) at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. This role involves providing integration of C5ISR operational prototypes onto various Military Weapon Systems & Platforms (air, ground & sea) and performing C5ISR prototyping, integration, and testing support based on the emerging needs of the Warfighter.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related scientific/technical discipline and three (3) years of related experience.
  • Technical background in fabrication for electrical connectors, specifically MIL STD type data and power connectors that are part of Wiring harness assemblies.
  • Experience overseeing manufacture of components with a wide range of materials including injection molding, sheet metal and machining systems for use in electrical connectors.
  • Technical expertise to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience serving as an engineer or equipment designer.
  • Combination of Electrical and Mechanical experience.
  • Hardware design, assembly and test experience.
  • Experience related to design, development or production of military equipment or equivalent, preferable C5ISR systems.
  • Robotics and/or Counter UAS experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the design and fabrication of prototype/limited manufacturing programs focused on C5ISR programs.
  • Provide technical contributions to the development of concepts and technical data packages.
  • Oversee the fabrication of hardware systems.
  • Perform fundamental engineering duties in preliminary designs, performing tests, taking measurements, and performing system analyses or simulations.
  • Apply standard practices and techniques in specific electrical engineering assignments.
  • Assist CAD designers in developing the electrical design of products.
  • Work with other engineers to ensure quality, safety, and logistics concerns related to systems designs are met.
  • Assist in the preparation of test plans to demonstrate the effectiveness of the design packages.
  • Assess the results of the design and test phases and work with customers by providing estimates for work and tracking expenditures.
  • Prepare data and documentation, when applicable.
  • Instruct, when required, electronics technicians, junior engineers, or serve as a contributor to large and complex projects.
  • Work independently, with limited supervision.
