About The Position

The Electrical Commissioning Technician 1 assists with basic testing, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment under close supervision. This entry-level role supports more experienced technicians while developing foundational knowledge and skills for progression. M.C. Requirements

High school diploma with two years of experience, or equivalent experience and training.
Reliable transportation.
Must pass a background check and drug test.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information.
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Good vision, which may be corrected, ability to see color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
Ability to use a standard ladder without exceeding its weight limit while carrying tools.
Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems and combine information to form conclusions.
Ability to see details at close range, within a few feet.
Ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences.

Responsibilities

Assist in testing and maintaining site and field equipment.
Support the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and associated wiring.
Perform basic testing, moving, and adjustment of equipment.
Assist with field construction inspections to ensure compliance with NETA specifications and plans.
Maintain records and report inspection activities.
Apply basic mathematics, use engineering measuring devices, and follow safety procedures, including LOTO.
Prepare equipment for testing as directed by the commissioning lead.
Assist in operating load banks and equipment while using proper PPE.
Participate in Operational Risk Management meetings (ORMs).
