About The Position

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Authority to join their Data Center Commissioning Team. This role offers hands-on experience with Data Center projects and exposure to various other project types. Commissioning is a quality assurance process that ensures systems and components are installed and operate as intended, improving building performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and occupant comfort. The Glumac Commissioning Team is dedicated to providing high-quality commissioning services, with over 30 full-time staff working on projects including LEED Cx, Title 24 Cx, retro-commissioning, energy studies, measurement and verification, and ongoing commissioning. The team collaborates with clients from design to move-in and beyond, bringing together owners, design teams, contractors, and building operators to achieve project goals. As an Electrical Data Center Commissioning Authority, you will lead and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects, including field functional testing, creating checklists, documenting test results, maintaining issue logs and reports, participating in meetings, supporting project management, following procedures and industry standards, ensuring safety, and engaging in continuous professional development.

Requirements

A Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or a related field, or industry commensurate experience.
8+ years of related industry experience and 2+ years of experience in datacenter commissioning, operations, or construction.
ANSI/ISO Accreditation Cx Certification (BCxA CCP, ACG CxA, ASHRAE BCxP).
Strong technical knowledge of datacenter electrical system design and operation, controls, and instrumentation.
Project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
Exceptional client-facing, client relationship, and client management skills.
Ability to work autonomously and in team environments.
Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Safety first mindset.
Ability to climb ladders/stairs and lift/carry loads above 20 lbs.
Ability to be on a job site for extended periods (8-10 hours).
Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 50%.
Valid driver’s license and insurance.

Nice To Haves

Professional licensure (PE license, Energy Management, or TAB certifications) is a plus.
Ability to manage QA/QC processes.
Data center Electrical systems commissioning experience.
Utility and medium voltage electrical systems commissioning and/or testing experience.
Infrared Thermography certification
Experience with commissioning software or ongoing commissioning tools.
Candidates with commensurate experience gained from military service will be considered and are highly encouraged to apply.
Experience gained from military service maintaining, operating and/or testing nuclear power or other power systems. This includes power systems, battery systems, steam generation, hydroelectric plants, medium voltage distribution, and more.
Experience gained in commissioning, testing, or quality assurance of medium voltage power systems that include power plants, solar, electric vehicle charging, critical power systems, and more.

Responsibilities

Conduct field functional testing.
Create pre-functional and functional checklists.
Lead commissioning meetings and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects.
Perform field observations and document test results.
Maintain issue resolution logs and compile commissioning reports.
Assist with project management duties as needed.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
