About The Position

The purpose of this position is to conduct testing, basic troubleshooting, alignment, maintaining, integration and repair of electronic equipment. This role involves troubleshooting electronic system failures to the component level, working with Senior Electronic Technicians to fulfill customer requirements, and soldering various surface mount and through-hole components. The technician will diagnose potential causes of equipment malfunction, assist remote operations personnel with technical troubleshooting, and repair/calibrate equipment as needed. Additionally, the role includes installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting RF communication equipment, demonstrating interdisciplinary cooperation, and building, installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting RF, Fiber, and power cables. A key aspect is maintaining an operational test bench with various test equipment.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in electronics field or sufficient training and experience to perform the essential functions of the position is required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in electronic maintenance environment is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings and instructions
  • Knowledge of two-way radios and RF communication systems.
  • Ability to work with various hand tools.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
  • Basic understanding of installing and updating software.
  • Knowledge of video signals and test patterns
  • Proficient in use of test equipment as required in assigned area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots electronic system failures to the component level.
  • Works with Senior Electronic Technicians to fulfill internal/external customer requirements, including event and trailer requirements.
  • Solders various surface mount and through-hole components.
  • Diagnoses potential causes of equipment malfunction using knowledge of equipment and/or technical drawings.
  • Assists remotes operations personnel with technical troubleshooting of simple problems.
  • Repairs and calibrates equipment as needed.
  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots RF communication equipment.
  • Demonstrate interdisciplinary cooperation by collaborating with other departments to solve cross-departmental issues.
  • Builds, installs, maintains, and/or troubleshoots various forms of RF, Fiber, and power cables.
  • Maintains an operational test bench with various test equipment.
