About The Position

The Electrical/Automation Engineer will be responsible for providing Electrical/Automation Engineering support to various projects for a large manufacturing company. The role involves training maintenance electricians, providing troubleshooting support, identifying opportunities for machine reliability improvements, and aiding in the development of maintenance systems and practices. This is a long-term contract/contract-to-hire position with the potential for reassessment based on project needs and the engineering team's workload. The position requires immediate support and does not have a defined end date.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen or possess a permanent resident green card.
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering, with 4+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience with electrical design standards and able to complete controls systems designs using standard CAD design tools.
  • Experience with controls systems network interfaces and various protocols for communications between devices including computer system databases.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell, including VFD’s (or Variable Frequency Drives) and Motion Control technologies equipment, with working knowledge of PanelView and PLC programming standards & programming software, including GRAFCET, Ladder Logic, and Structured Text.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Project Team Leadership or Project Management is preferred but not required.
  • Autocad Electric is a plus, SEE electric experience is preferred.
  • Specific experience with Control Techniques, SEW MOVIMOT, and Rockwell, is a plus.
  • Robotic experience, configuration or knowledge is preferred, but not required. Specific experience with Fanuc, ABB is a plus.
  • Specific experience with Cognex, Keyence, Adept, Bytewise preferred. Gocator is a plus.
  • Preferred 10+ years of Engineering Experience, enough to work on their own and not have to be micromanaged.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training to the maintenance wage Electricians
  • Provide troubleshooting support to the maintenance team
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in machine reliability
  • Aid the shop in development of the maintenance systems/practices
  • Provide detailed electrical design and automation programming for assigned projects.
  • Provide estimates and technical schedules for all phases of process equipment addition, replacement, or upgrade.
  • Provide backup support and training to plant maintenance teams on new automation systems that they implement.
  • Participate in assigned major capital projects and/or modifications from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning, and acceptance.
