About The Position

Piper Electric, a Crete United Company, is a leading electrical contractor serving the Denver metro area. We specialize in commercial and industrial construction, service, and maintenance projects and are committed to developing the next generation of skilled electricians through hands-on training and career advancement opportunities. We are currently seeking a motivated 2nd Year Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team. This position is ideal for individuals who have completed their first year of apprenticeship training and are looking to expand their field experience while working alongside experienced Journeyman and Master Electricians.

Requirements

  • Registered in a State of Colorado-approved electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Completion of approximately one year of apprenticeship training (2nd year apprentice status).
  • Basic understanding of commercial electrical installation practices and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
  • Familiarity with common electrical hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working overhead.
  • Reliable transportation to jobsites throughout the Denver metro area.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous commercial electrical experience.
  • Experience bending conduit.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of electrical systems on commercial and industrial projects.
  • Pull wire, install conduit, and support equipment installations under supervision.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and basic electrical layouts.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and install EMT, rigid, and PVC conduit.
  • Install electrical devices, lighting fixtures, panels, and supporting equipment.
  • Assist with terminating conductors and making electrical connections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment safely and properly.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with foremen, journeymen, project managers, and fellow apprentices.
  • Track apprenticeship hours and maintain required classroom participation.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills.
