About The Position

The Electrical Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment. Operationally checks all systems, sub-systems, and associated line replaceable unit (LRU) removal and installation. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.

  • Minimum of five (5) years total electrical experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber (preferably F-16) aircraft maintenance as an electrician.
  • Must have experience working with aircraft wiring, technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires , shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government.
  • Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, inspects, removes, installs, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and operates aircraft electrical systems, components, and associated support equipment.
  • Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
  • Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
  • Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
