The purpose of this position is to provide receptionist and clerical support within the guidelines of department standard operating procedures, instructions from the supervisor, and County policies and procedures. This role involves conducting state, local, county, and municipal elections, performing voter registrations, and processing absentee ballot requests. The position also requires managing mail, operating office equipment, and maintaining records. Additionally, the Elections Clerk may provide initial orientation and training to new employees, review the work of others, and offer relief for supervisory roles. A key aspect of the role is operating a personal computer for data entry, word processing, and utilizing various software. Communication with County City officials, supervisors, employees, clients, and the public is essential for coordinating work activities, exchanging information, and resolving problems. The position also involves processing documentation related to department/division operations, including receiving, reviewing, and completing various forms and reports, as well as compiling data and maintaining computerized and hardcopy records.
