About The Position
FWI is building a team to support the Naval Postgraduate School's (NPS) NPS Extended Campus (NEC) and Office of University Communications (OUC). NEC develops innovative digital learning tools and applications that support NPS graduate-level instruction and academic programming. This position will bridge software development, educational technology, and interactive media to deliver cutting-edge learning applications for NPS students and faculty. This position will design, develop, and maintain interactive online educational applications, simulations, and dashboards, ensuring NPS has modern, reliable, and user-friendly digital tools that enhance the teaching and learning experience. FWI is expanding rapidly and has been recognized as a 2024 and 2025 Top Workplace by the Washington Post, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in computer programming or relevant discipline.
- 3 years of experience designing, developing, debugging, and implementing software.
Nice To Haves
- Independent programming experience including design, specifications, integration, testing, QA, technical documentation, and effectiveness assessment.
- Ability to perform feasibility analysis for future projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive online educational applications
- Program simulations, dashboards, and multimedia applets for computer, tablet, and mobile platforms
- Maintain code inventories; research emerging programming and media development trends
- Provide consultation on media graphics for student academic projects
