About The Position

The Elder Nutrition Activity Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a wide range of recreational, educational, cultural, and social activities that support the wellbeing of elders. This role ensures programs are engaging, culturally appropriate, and aligned with the physical, emotional, and social needs of participants. The coordinator maintains activity schedules, oversees program logistics, collaborates with staff and community partners, and helps foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. The position also tracks participation, assists with special events, and supports the overall mission of enhancing quality of life for elders through meaningful daily engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, recreation, family consumer sciences, related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse population
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor others
  • Customer service focus
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to hold strict confidentiality
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Possess or ability to obtain CPR, first aid certification, and food handler’s card within three (3) months and maintain throughout employment.
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
