About The Position

The ELC Educational Coordinator manages educational early childhood grant-funded programs at Boys & Girls Club Early Learning Centers (ELCs) and Boys & Girls Club Alliance sites, including administration, implementation, compliance and evaluation, to support high-quality literacy instruction and school readiness initiatives for children and families across BGCTM's network. These programs include, but are not limited to, the Nevada Ready! State Pre-K (NR!PK) Program and the Nevada Early Childhood Literacy and Readiness (ECLR) Grant. The ELC Educational Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for all sites and stakeholders related to early childhood educational grant programs. The ELC Educational Coordinator is responsible for keeping all locations in compliance with all grant requirements, including Nevada Department of Education (NDE) requirements outlined in NRS 387.652-658, by maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring program performance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maximize grant outcomes. As this position supports locations throughout Nevada, the ELC Educational Coordinator spends approximately 60% of their time in ELC locations and 2-5 days per month traveling outside of the Reno-Sparks area, depending on program needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) months to one year teaching in a preschool, pre-K, or kindergarten program required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preschool CDA; or Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Experience with TSG or Creative Curriculum highly preferred.
  • Experience with NV Ready programming highly preferred.
  • Administrative experience or experience with grants highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of NR!PK and ECLR grant implementation across ELC and Alliance sites, ensuring programs meet funder requirements for teacher qualifications, enrollment eligibility, class size, and instructional time.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to state education agency staff, maintaining regular check-ins and attending required program meetings.
  • Maintain required subgrantee documentation and manage grant applications, budgets, and reimbursement requests.
  • Ensure ECLR grant activities align with grant objectives and performance measures, and monitor grant expenditures with Finance staff to ensure allowable use of funds.
  • Respond to formal NR!PK desk monitoring and site visits by developing and implementing Program Improvement Plans (PIPs), and support Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) tied to QRIS participation.
  • Prepare, compile, and submit all required reports, data, and program documentation to NDE and other funding agencies accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate literacy and school readiness initiatives across multiple Early Learning Centers and Boys & Girls Club Alliance locations, ensuring instruction aligns with the Nevada Pre-Kindergarten Standards and Nevada Pre-Kindergarten Social Emotional Standards.
  • Support implementation of an evidence-based, developmentally appropriate literacy curriculum and school readiness practices with fidelity at each site.
  • Support inclusive practices for children with IEPs or developmental delays, and support kindergarten transition planning.
  • Assist in developing annual program goals and continuous improvement strategies; monitor outcomes and recommend improvements.
  • Oversee collection and timely submission of child assessment, enrollment, and attendance data to funders.
  • Coordinate program quality assessments and use results to inform coaching and improvement plans.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with grant and licensing requirements, and prepare summaries for leadership and funders.
  • Serve as liaison between BGCTM and state agency staff, school districts, and community partners.
  • Build collaborative relationships that strengthen programming, family engagement, and comprehensive service coordination.
  • Represent BGCTM at relevant state meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to site leadership on grant requirements and compliance.
  • Develop procedures and resources that promote consistent implementation across sites.
  • Assist with staff training related to program requirements, documentation, and compliance.
  • Administer required family engagement surveys and develop an annual family engagement plan.
  • Support family engagement events and community outreach funded through grant initiatives.
  • Coordinate comprehensive services, such as screenings and community referrals, with local partners.
