About The Position

The primary goal of this position is to plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development in the 21st century. This role involves differentiating instruction, analyzing data to make informed decisions, managing instructional time and student behavior, motivating students, and collaborating with parents, teachers, administrators, and the community to enhance student learning. The teacher will also monitor student performance and interact effectively within the educational environment. Additional duties may include coordinating the activities of a Teacher Assistant, if applicable, and performing other related work as required.

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area
NC Teaching License or have qualifications to obtain a NC Teaching License
Strong background in North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer
Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone
Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone
Ability to exhibit physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead
