About The Position

This is an applicant pool posting for an EL Teacher - Elementary position. In lieu of individual school/position postings, this pool is used to connect with talented individuals. The role involves developing students' cognitive capacity and respect for learning, positively fostering self-esteem, and working with a diverse student population including those with diverse languages, cultural backgrounds, immigrants, and refugees. The teacher will integrate leadership, technology, and communication into the curriculum, plan and guide the learning process, maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning, implement diagnostic and progress assessment measures, select and use effective instructional methods and materials, establish cooperative relationships with students, and maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and staff. Professional growth and collaboration are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university
  • A valid NE Teaching Certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsement(s) in ESL
  • A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of effective instructional practices for EL instruction, literacy aligned to Science of Reading, and culturally responsive teaching
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience
  • Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education
  • Skills pertinent to foster positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community
  • A willingness and demonstrated abilities conducive to a continuous quest for quality education
  • Must be able to respond rapidly in emergency situations
  • Must have organization, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Verification of a valid Nebraska Teaching License or other required license
  • A background check which demonstrates background is acceptable for the position sought and working with or around students
  • Verification of U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a tuberculosis skin test (if required by federal law for your position)

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent
