Performs EKG’s and places Event monitors on patients under the supervision and direction of the Operations Manager. This role involves knowledge of performing EKG, placing Event monitors, and performing Implanted Cardiac Device (ICD) interrogation. The technician will maintain accurate documentation, respond to cardiac/respiratory arrests, record physician orders, and participate in quality assurance programs. Communication with the healthcare team, assisting with clerical duties, and transmitting EKGs are key responsibilities. The role also includes preparing EKGs for interpretation, assisting with various cardiac procedures like Cardioversions and Stress Tests, and configuring/analyzing Holter monitors. Registering Event/Loop recorders and educating patients on their use are also part of the duties. The technician must maintain regular attendance and compliance with hospital policies. Other duties include transporting patients, scheduling procedures, and demonstrating age-appropriate patient care. Professional growth and continuing education are expected.
