About The Position

This position oversees, organizes, and coordinates the overall operation of non-invasive cardiac procedures, including staffing and work assignments. The Lead EKG Technician directs, implements, and updates policies, procedures, and protocols to streamline workflow, improve efficiency, and strengthen quality assurance. This role works independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results to physicians in a timely manner. The Lead ensures the timely delivery of assessments and oversees the efficient maintenance and operation of all equipment. Routinely performs all duties of an Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician, as needed. Ensures treatment is provided in a manner consistent with best practices, accreditation standards, and State and Federal regulations.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
  • EKG-Technician Certification
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification
  • 4 years recent relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of cardiac testing, mechanics and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Skilled in interpreting and evaluating cardiac test results as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and medical terminology.
  • Possess outstanding written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
  • Expertise in operating diagnostic equipment including EKG, Treadmill, and Holter monitor scanning equipment.

  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s PHI.
  • Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
