Job Summary: Skilled US is seeking a highly skilled and motivated EKG Technician Instructor (Part-Time) to lead. Integrated Education and Training (IET) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) programming for adult learners and high school students aligned to high-demand healthcare careers. This role delivers hands-on, industry-aligned instruction that prepares participants for: Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., NHA Certified EKG Technician - CET) Entry-level healthcare employment in hospitals, clinics, and patient care settings Advancement into broader healthcare pathways (CNA, PCT, Medical Assistant, Nursing) In addition to technical instruction, this position integrates adult education (where applicable), workforce readiness, and career pathway development into all training. This is a high-impact, outcomes-driven role that blends: Technical instruction IET model integration (academic + workforce training) Workforce readiness Employer alignment Student coaching and accountability Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 1:00 PM–5:00 PM, or 4:00 PM–9:00 PM Program Focus EKG Technician Pathway Includes: Introduction to Healthcare & Patient Care Anatomy & Physiology (cardiovascular system focus) Medical Terminology EKG Fundamentals and Cardiac Monitoring Lead Placement and Patient Preparation Rhythm Interpretation Basics EKG Equipment Operation and Maintenance Infection Control & OSHA Standards Patient Communication and Bedside Manner Certification Exam Preparation (NHA CET or equivalent) Clinical exposure or simulation-based practice (if applicable) IET & Workforce Readiness Integration Includes: Contextualized academic support (reading, math, digital literacy, where applicable) Professional communication Workplace expectations and behavior Resume development and interview preparation Time management and accountability Career pathway mapping Job search strategy Employer engagement preparation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2–4+ years of experience in healthcare, EKG, patient care, or related field
  • National certification (NHA CET or equivalent) preferred
  • Ability to obtain a Valid Indiana Workplace Specialist License (if applicable)
  • Strong knowledge of EKG procedures, patient preparation, and cardiac monitoring
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching or training adult learners or youth
  • Experience in workforce development, IET, or CTE programs
  • Familiarity with certification exam preparation (NHA CET)
  • Experience working with diverse or underserved populations
  • Knowledge of healthcare career pathways

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, hands-on EKG instruction aligned with industry standards and certification requirements.
  • Prepare learners for NHA CET (or equivalent) certification exams.
  • Demonstrate and supervise proper lead placement, patient preparations, and equipment readiness.
  • Integrate IET components, including academic reinforcement and workforce readiness.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of adult learners and high school CTE students.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant lab/ classroom environment
  • Enforce OSHA, infection control, and patient safety standards
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of EKG equipment
  • Maintain clean, organized, and industry-aligned training space
  • Reinforce attendance, professionalism, and workplace expectations
  • Support learners in developing technical competency and confidence
  • Provide coaching on career readiness and job placement
  • Identify and support students at risk of disengagement
  • Track and monitor student progress, skill attainment, and outcomes
  • Build relationships with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare employers
  • Align curriculum with employer expectations and hiring needs
  • Support work-based learning, clinical exposure, and job placement pipelines
  • Participate in employer meetings, site visits, and advisory boards
  • Maintain accurate attendance, performance, and certification tracking
  • Track skill competency and readiness for employment
  • Document workforce readiness milestones and IET outcomes
  • Support WIOA, grant, and compliance reporting requirements
