About The Position

This is a full-time EKG Technician I position in the Cardiology department at Carolinas Medical Center. The role involves performing ECGs, Holter Monitoring, and Signal Average ECGs, alerting medical staff to unusual tracings, responding to Code Blue situations, participating in performance improvement activities, assisting with patient preparation for Treadmill tests, and supporting MUSE operations. The position requires the ability to work for long periods standing, walking, bending, and stooping, with fluency in English. The technician must be able to lift and support up to 50 pounds of medical equipment and supplies, and may have potential exposure to blood and secretions.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
BCLS required to be complete during initial orientation period.
Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English is essential.
Must be able to lift and support the weight of 50 pounds in handling medical equipment, and supplies.

Nice To Haves

1 year ECG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs ECGs, Holter Monitoring, and Signal Average ECGs.
Alerts the MD or Nurse of any unusual ECG tracings.
Responds to Code Blue.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Assists with the preparation of patients for Treadmill tests.
Supports MUSE operations.
