About The Position

The EIC Engineer III will provide technical leadership and oversight for all EIC engineering deliverables on assigned projects. This role serves as the Lead EIC Engineer for multidisciplinary engineering projects, ensuring the successful execution and coordination of electrical, instrumentation, controls, and protection systems engineering activities. The position requires providing engineering direction, making final technical decisions within the EIC scope of work, and potentially acting as the Engineer of Record (EOR). Responsibilities include reviewing and approving engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, studies, and procurement packages, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, client specifications, and industry best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another industry-related field required
Minimum seven (7) years of industry-related experience
Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, procedures, industry standards, and best practices related to electrical power systems, instrumentation, automation, and controls.
Strong technical, leadership, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
Strong project leadership and client relationship management abilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

MV and LV power distribution design.
Protective relaying and protection coordination.
Power system modeling software experience (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower).
Instrumentation specification and application.
Industrial networking and communications.
Process control system architecture development.
Arc flash and electrical safety analysis.
Construction support and commissioning experience.
Industrial and utility facility design experience.

Nice To Haves

Licensure as a Professional Engineer Preferred. Or the ability to take PE exam within 1 year of hire.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
Utility substation, generation, renewable energy, or process industry experience.
Startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

Providing technical leadership and oversight for all EIC engineering deliverables on assigned projects.
Serving as Lead EIC Engineer for multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Ensuring the successful execution and coordination of electrical, instrumentation, controls, and protection systems engineering activities.
Providing engineering direction and making final technical decisions within the EIC scope of work.
Acting as Engineer of Record (EOR), when required, for project deliverables.
Reviewing and approving engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, studies, and procurement packages.
Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, client specifications, and industry best practices.
Leading all electrical deliverables incorporating information from vendor documentation, power system studies, electrical equipment specifications, and construction requirements.
Developing and reviewing power system studies and deliverables including MV and LV power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, electrical equipment layouts, cable schedules and routing, grounding and bonding systems, lighting systems, MCC designs, standby and emergency power systems, and VFD applications.
Leading electrical system analysis including load flow studies, short circuit studies, motor starting studies, protective device coordination studies, arc flash hazard analysis, and harmonic analysis.
Developing equipment specifications, RFQ packages, bid evaluations, and technical recommendations.
Coordinating utility interconnection requirements and power system integration activities.
Leading instrumentation and controls engineering efforts for industrial and utility facilities.
Developing and reviewing instrument indexes, instrument data sheets, instrument installation details, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, control narratives, control system architecture drawings, and instrument location plans.
Supporting development and review of P&IDs to ensure instrumentation and control requirements are properly incorporated.
Defining process measurement strategies including pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical, and specialty instrumentation applications.
Developing and reviewing control philosophies and operational strategies.
Supporting specification and selection of field instrumentation and control devices.
Coordinating instrument procurement and vendor package integration.
Serving as primary client contact for EIC engineering activities.
Leading project kickoff meetings, technical reviews, and client coordination meetings.
Developing project scopes, man-hour estimates, schedules, and resource plans.
Monitoring project budgets, schedules, and technical performance.
Identifying and mitigating project risks.
Supporting proposal development, scope definition, and technical sales efforts.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships through successful project delivery.
Coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers, designers, and technical staff.
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and technical development of team members.
Promoting engineering excellence and consistency within the EIC organization.
Helping establish and improve department standards, design guides, and engineering procedures.
Conducting technical reviews and quality assurance reviews of engineering deliverables.
