Morton Industries is hiring for an EHS Technician! You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on a well-established EHS program and lend support and knowledge to the company by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain and revise complex policies and
  • Proven track record performing duties associated with EHS and being a quality team member
  • Experience with state and federal environmental and safety reporting essential

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental and safety measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations.
  • Conduct all required water sampling, visual inspections, etc. as required by state, federal and local laws IAW company permitting.
  • Develop or provide input to hazardous material communications, including approving and maintaining safety data sheets.
  • Assist in preparation for and submission of reports to environmental and other governing bodies.
  • Maintain working knowledge of new developments in industry and government regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company EHS requirements.
  • Mentors and if need be, directs disciplinary action for non-compliance.
  • Develop, facilitate, or perform training for workers on issues related to health and safety, providing both mandated annual and issue-specific training.
  • Maintaining documentation as required.
  • Conduct new-hire safety training during onboarding process
  • Develop and chair Plant Safety Teams.
  • Manage Emergency Responder program and conduct training/retraining
  • Develop, facilitate, or perform incident-specific training for workers when significant hazards or issues are identified.
  • Investigate accidents and prepare accident reports while working with EHS Manager and workers compensation carrier as required.
  • All other duties as assigned
